Here at girlgottachange, we’re big fans of manifestation and the law of attraction. In this blog post, we’re going to focus on manifestation for beginners!
1 - Be Specific:
‘Ask. Believe. Receive’ is a popular saying in line with the law of attraction. But, where most beginners tend to get lost is in the specifics. When manifesting, it’s important to be as specific as you can - rather than wanting to ‘be rich’, you may want to manifest to ‘have £1 million by the age of 30 from my successful business’. When you want to attract something into your life, you basically need to put your order into the universe. When you order from ASOS, you don’t ask for a ‘dress’, you ask for a ‘black flowy dress in size 12 from the Tall range’. You’re very specific about what you would like to order, and the same goes for speaking to the universe!
2 - Ask the Universe:
So we know manifesting is asking the universe for specific things that you want, but where do you start?
First of all, make sure to ask with respect. This may sound a bit odd, but the universe is a being of energy - thank it, trust it and be kind. You don’t order food in a restaurant in a rude manner, so please and thank you’s are still relevant when manifesting!
There are many different ways that you can speak to the universe - you can write it down, speak out loud or even voice it in your head. The important part is to speak as if it has already happened. Instead of writing ‘I want to be successful in my field’, you’d say (or write) ‘I am successful in my field’. By doing this, you’re signalling to the universe that you already believe it to be yours, in other words, it’s not something you want in the future, it’s something you will have in the future.
People often wonder how often you should speak with the universe, but there’s no real answer to stick by - write/speak as little or as often as you would like. We generally recommend manifesting something more than once, to reinforce these positive feelings, but it doesn’t have to be every day.
3 - Believe in the universe
This can often be the part that people find difficult when manifesting. How do you actually convince yourself that you’re going to get these things in the future? Try to focus on the feelings you’re going to have when your manifestations come true - feel these emotions when you are manifesting and visualise yourself in that manifestation. For example, if you’re manifesting your dream car, close your eyes and visualise yourself picking up the keys, experience how happy and excited you are to drive it and take it back to your house.
Basically, allow yourself to really get in the feels. Get excited, do a happy dance and live your life as if you already have that manifestation.
4 - Take your own steps
If you’re manifesting something, unfortunately it doesn’t just get delivered to your door in a nice parcel for you (like our planners!). You have to open your eyes to see the opportunities the universe is giving you and meet it halfway. Take those opportunities and you’ll show the universe that you’re working towards that manifestation, that you really want it!
5 - Be grateful
This last step is quite often forgotten, but is as equally important as the rest. Show your gratitude to the universe when it delivers your manifestations - a creative way to do this, for example, would be to have a gratitude list in your bullet journal. Write down one thing every day that you are grateful for, even on the worst of days.
We often show gratitude for the orders from our store, the success of our business and even when we find a new planner cover that we like! Even the simple things such as a text from a friend, a really nice meal or a hug from a loved one can brighten your mood, so show gratitude for these small things and you’ll see a huge mindset shift which will help increase your energy and fastrack your manifestations.
To summarise, be specific in what you’d like, choose how to ask the universe, believe that it will happen and enjoy the feelings of getting excited, take inspired action and be open to how you will receive your opportunities and finally, and most importantly, be grateful for the great things to come into your life.
